One evening many years ago there was a knock on the door, can you come and play some music for us as we have been let down! That is where it all began, then came the mixer the lights the Vinyl, oh the heavy Vinyl! In a blink, there were nightclubs, mobile Discos aplenty, manifesting into a liking for Soul, Jazz/Funk, and Disco Classics plus many other genres. Fast forward through much fun and hard work, I finally got the Radio bug. Cracker Radio and Local Community Radio then our own 24 hr Online Internet station. What a way to combine all those acquired skills and experiences together, plus along with other like-minded types is where we are today. Playing Classic hits and more, Supporting local events, working alongside and with The police, Local council, Heritage venues, Armed Forces, Fire Fighters etc.. I am proud to be of Service via our mutual endeavors.

Err hello is this thing on? Hi, I'm Steve Baldwin born and bred in Felixstowe, Suffolk and married to Julie. I love music and I grew up listening to my parents' choices, Jim Reeves, Val Doonican etc. But soon got into Rock music and was a big Slade fan in the early 70's, then Status Quo in the mid 70's, and I'm still a massive Quo fan now! So how did I join Fresh Gold?. Many years ago I helped Jon Kennedy - J.K. with his mobile disco. In 2017 I saw him doing his "thing" at an outdoor event with Fresh Gold, had a chat, met with the team and here I am! I am now part of the team helping out on the outdoor events Plus, I regularly co-host the "Here Comes the Weekend" show on Friday evenings with Barry. I now present "In The Album Now" - my own show playing album tracks, all the music from my own collection. Leaning towards Rock and Heavy Metal, but with the odd surprise here and there! Other hobbies/interests include (other than Status Quo) going to gigs, making plastic model kits (aircraft & cars) and being a member of the International Plastic Modellers Society (IPMS) Ipswich. I also like motorsport, Formula One, NASCAR, British Touring Cars etc. But grew up on UK Small Oval Racing track meeting in all weathers subsequently starting myself in the Stock Rod formula in 1985. A few years later came back to racing in the Rookie Rod formula for another 3 years. I also like aviation, reading (yes I can!) favourite book is "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy". I don't know how I find the time for this music lark but I do! Enjoy listening to Fresh Gold & if you see us at an outdoor event come and say hello!

I started DJing at the age of 15 performing at mainly colleges and weddings. Over time I found myself being called on to do functions at some of the top London Hotels and Thames Party Boats. The Highlight of my early career was the resident DJ spot at Cinatra’s in Croydon, where I was privileged to work alongside some of the 70s primetime TV Celebrities In 2012 I returned to DJing this time on Community Radio presenting several different time slots including Breakfast, Brunch, Drivetime, and Motown & Soul. I’m a great fan of music in general particularly the 60s & 70s and Motown. In 2016 I have the opportunity to visit the Motown Studios in Detroit. I’ll never forget standing in Studio A in the home of Motown Records where all that great music was made. I married my wife Pauline in 2004 whilst on a motorcycle tour of the Western Rockies in Canada. We have lived in Clacton for the last 13 years. and enjoy living by the sea and spending days on the beach with our 5 grandchildren. I play golf (badly) and love to travel whenever I can. I’m pleased to be a member of the Presenter Team at Fresh Gold Radio and look forward to being part of the Stations future!

Andy is another former club dj with over 30 years of experience playing to live audiences and full dancefloors… well, most of the time. He lists music as one of his three strongest passions, alongside his daughter and cheeky trips away with his long-suffering partner.
Andy grew up in the late 70s and early 80s with attending school in Colchester. At the age of 21, he started his radio career as the crew dj on the SS Canberra P&O cruise ship before having a stint in London on hospital radio and then university radio (not as a student just a VERY mature volunteer) in the mid 1990s.
Returning to his home town of Colchester, Andy worked on the local station SGR on the Saturday sports show before joining a community radio station, hosting, among other shows, a popular weekly 80s show for over 3 years.
With other opportunities at Actual Radio and Rubix Radio following, Andy has been heard on the airwaves across the East of England for the past 10 years.
Away from the microphone, Andy enjoys cookery, gardening, exercising at the gym and attending quiz nights (pre-covid 19). He likes most genres of music except for Jazz, Opera and Folk, he is a master of the “Dad-Jokes” (causing endless eye-rolling from his daughter at every attempt) and a purveyor of useless music & movie trivia, especially were the 1980s is concerned!
Andy is delighted to be on Fresh Gold radio and you can hear shows from him every Sunday and Wednesday

Nigel is an Ipswich man, though currently living on the dark side in Norfolk – well, it is only just over the border..... He has a big interest in all types of music though admits after a fashion that Jazz of any sort isn’t anywhere on the list or likely to be. Nigel has a keen sense of humour and laughs at things which he probably shouldn’t and has a laugh that has got him into trouble many times over the years. He looks after Nigel at Night on Friday nights and also the country show’s on Sundays and Tuesdays.
Hi there, my name is Jeff Schwingen.
I was born in London and moved to Essex in the mid-1970s.
I have always had a passion for music and you could argue that it is an obsession!
This passion has always been very eclectic, as I tend to like most types of music. My favourite years for music are between the mid-60s and the mid-80s, and my favourite music genres are soul, disco, Motown, classic rock and classical ... although I like most types of music...
Like most people around my age, I stayed glued to the radio. Especially Radio Luxembourg, pirate radio such as Caroline and the like, and of course the launch of Radio 1.
My first 45-rpm single purchase was by the Drifters; "There Goes My First Love". Little did I know then how many records I would subsequently buy?
Over the years, I have done many discos and parties along the way. Including a street party for the Queen's Silver Jubilee.
In the last 5 years plus I turned my hand to local radio, joining a local FM community radio station which l subsequently left to join Fresh Gold Radio.
I look forward to being part of the team here at Fresh Gold Radio and getting to know you over the weeks to come.

Music makes everything tick. In the movies, On TV, As the soundtrack to life itself. It's always there and using radio to communicate with listeners is a life long passion and an amazing privilege. I've been presenting and performing now for over 43 years!
I’ve had a love for Country Music since before sliced bread was invented in the middle ages! I grew up listening to Patsy Cline, Jim Reeves and John Denver, favourites of my parents and eventually became a favourite of mine. I’ve been lucky to be supported by some of the top Country Music PR companies in the Country and some of the top artists across the world.
I present two shows for Fresh Gold Radio. "Let's Go Country" is a high energy Country music show and "Countdown to the Weekend" Full of features and fun, taking you into the weekend with mixed genre selection of music, features and fun.

Stacey was born in Suffolk and has lived there all her life. She has always been involved in music even from an early age, when her Dad was a DJ. She was keen to learn the songs she heard. So her parents bought her a keyboard. Her early influences were David Bowie, Jean- Michel Jarre, Enya and A-ha. Stacey is a singer and musician and has written and produced her own music for several years. She became interested in radio presenting in 2009 when she landed a volunteer slot on local radio once a week. She is an 80’s girl at heart but does have an eclectic taste in music.
Live Event Support
So how the heck did I become a member of the Fresh Gold Team? Well 5 years ago I meet the guys from Fresh Gold when they came in to a previous store I worked at the purchase some new speakers. During my time on the Fresh Gold team I have been involved with presenting live shows, co-hosting but I now leave that to the professionals and stick to providing help and support during live events. Since joining the team I have developed my own business Breeze Events, to which we now supply sound, lighting, power distribution and much more to a wide range of events all over the UK. It’s great to be able to offer the support to each other when we need it and help both Breeze Events and Fresh Gold Radio develop more over the years.

I have always had a passion for music.
The first 45 I bought was “It’s Not Unusual” by Tom Jones to play on my Dansette. In the 70s, I moved on to the likes of Diana Ross, Dorothy Moore and George Benson thereby cementing my love of soul and dance music.
Mobile DJing in the late 70s, and 80s, expanded my taste for different types of music and, most fortunately, my beautiful wife Frances A.K.A. My Producer shares my love for different genres. The live acts that we have seen most are Judas Priest, Asia, Journey, Paul Carrack and Mary Chapin Carpenter.
Our radio story began some 9 years ago presenting Dance, Pop, Rock and Country shows on a local radio station and, more recently, I now present a weekly live rock show on a national rock station.
I am delighted to be a part of the Fresh Gold Radio presenter’s team to present both a themed dance music show on Friday evenings and a Saturday pop music
Hello, my Name is Brandy, AKA The Fresh Gold Guard Dog. As a valued member of the team, I have an important role. I am pleased to have many friends but, who the heck is this Kevin bloke? And why do I have to wear this stupid Hi Viz thing?
